Boarding Services

When you book a stay for your pet at the boarding facility at the Animal Hospital of Dunedin, you can expect comfort, safety, and happiness for your pet.

For your pet’s comfort, our boarding accommodations are spacious and climate-controlled.

For your pet’s safety, he or she will receive a comprehensive examination when they arrive. You can expect your veterinarian to check your pet’s vaccines status and their physical condition for the presence of parasites.

Vaccines Required for Boarding

  • Canines: Distemper/Parvo, Rabies, and Bordetella (Kennel Cough)
  • Felines: Distemper and Rabies.

If your pet is not current on the above-listed vaccines when they arrive for their boarding reservation, we will administer the vaccines at an additional cost. Likewise, if we find fleas or ticks on your pet, we will provide an appropriate bath and treatment at an additional cost. Please understand, this policy is in the best interest of your pet, as well as the rest of the pets staying with us, to prevent the spread of infectious conditions.

For your pet’s happiness, our boarding staff will provide ample love, attention, and playtime while you are away.

You can fill out our boarding registration form when dropping off your pet, or you can fill it out online and submit it ahead of time here.

Canine Boarding Accommodations

Choose from two different boarding accommodations for your dog based on their size:

  • For larger or multiple dogs, we offer a spacious 8×4’ run.
  • For smaller dogs under 30 pounds, we offer a cozier space to call home.

All dogs staying with us are walked at least three times a day. Dogs are walked separately, unless they are from the same household. For the safety of all dogs boarding with us, we do not allow dogs of different families to go on walks or play together.

We pride ourselves on the cleanliness and tidiness of our boarding accommodations. With the exception of certain medications, we have everything your pet needs while you are away! We will provide your pet with toys, blankets, and bowls. We ask that you please do not bring these items from home.

Dogs boarding with us are fed a prescription dry food during their stay. However, feel encouraged to bring your pet’s regular pet food from home. This will help to prevent any upset bellies.

Feline Boarding Accommodations

Each feline boarding with us will be accommodated with a quiet and secluded kitty condo to call home.

Each kitty condo has a napping area, dining area, and private bathroom. Two cats can share one kitty condo if they are from the same household.

We pride ourselves on the cleanliness and tidiness of our boarding accommodations. With the exception of certain medications, we have everything your pet needs while you are away! We will provide your cat with personal items like comfortable bedding, private litter boxes, and food and water bowls (and maybe some catnip too!)

Felines boarding with us are fed a prescription dry food during their stay. However, feel encouraged to bring your pet’s regular pet food from home. This will help to prevent any upset bellies.

Important Information About Your Pet's Stay

  • If your pet requires a boarding reservation for holidays, such as Thanksgiving and Christmas, please schedule your pet’s stay at least two months in advance. For non-holiday boarding, making a reservation a few days prior is sufficient time.
  • Drop-off and pick-up your pet during open office hours only.
  • Baths can be given prior to pick-up for an additional fee.

Please give us a call if you have any questions about your pet’s boarding reservation or our boarding policies.
